Back From The Dead Again is the first episode of the second season of The Pretender which first aired November 1, 1997 on NBC in the United States. It features the first appearance by recurring guest star Jamie Denton as Mr. Lyle.
Summary
It's the lead-up to Halloween when Jarod takes on a pretend that leads him to deal with cadavers and to dig up the grave of a missing student. He learns some tricks and traditions of Halloween and indulges in a bit of trick-or-treating while dressed up as the scariest person he knows.
Recap
Jarod is dealing with his brother's untimely death and having flashbacks of a time of his life that is not on any of his DSAs. Jarod's painful memories come as nightmares and are somehow tied to his latest case: the disappearance of a medical student on Halloween night the previous year.
Mr. Lyle, in his first appearence, takes control of things at The Centre in Mr. Parker's absence. However, this change does not sit well with Miss Parker, especially when Brigitte, "the new Cleaner" commissioned to provide assistance in the capture of Jarod, is introduced.
Pretend
Jarod pretends to be a Medical Professor, Dr. Jarod Howard, and also dresses up as Mr. Raines, "the scariest creature he can think of", in honor of Halloween.
